Activating the SiftHub bot for Slack

Step 1:

Sign into your company’s SiftHub account here.

Step 2:

Once you’ve logged in, navigate to the ‘Connectors’ tab in the left side panel and select ‘Bots’. Find the ‘Slack’ bot in the ‘Bots’ tab and click ‘Activate’ after reading the description given there.

Step 3:

On the OAuth consent screen that opens, make sure the correct Slack Workspace is selected and click on the Allow button to approve the request for SiftHub to access your Slack workplace. It's important to review the permission that the consent screen shows before assenting to the permission request.

Step 4:

Once the setup is successful, you will be redirected to the SiftHub Web App and your bot connection status will show ‘Activated’.

Your SiftHub bot for Slack is now set up, make sure you test it!

Go to your Slack workspace to confirm that the SiftHub app now shows on the app section of your workspace. Tag @SiftHub in a channel or ask the bot a question via DM and confirm that you get a response.

SiftHub indexes only the meetings you explicitly connect. Here's how the rest of the security model works.

How to set up

Connection requirements

  • Fireflies.ai Admin access: required to generate the API key
  • SiftHub Admin or Account Owner role: required to activate the connector from the SiftHub Web App → Connectors → Apps

Step 1: Generate your Fireflies.ai API key

Log in to Fireflies.ai, go to Integrations, find the Fireflies API, and click Get API Key. Copy the key and share it securely with your SiftHub CSM.

Step 2: Share your scope and preferences with your SiftHub CSM

Let your SiftHub CSM know whether to connect all meetings or specific users' meetings, and your preferred access setting, Open or Participant. They'll activate within 24 hours.

Do I need to be a Fireflies Admin to connect SiftHub?
Yes. Fireflies.ai Admin access is required to generate the API key.
Can I control which meetings get indexed?
Yes. Connect all meetings or limit to specific users. Share your preference with your SiftHub CSM during setup.
Who can see Fireflies.ai transcripts in SiftHub?
Open Access makes all connected transcripts visible to all SiftHub users. Participant Access limits visibility to users who hosted or attended each meeting.
How quickly are new transcripts available in SiftHub?
Within one hour of being processed by Fireflies.ai.
What happens if a meeting is deleted in Fireflies.ai?
Deleted content is automatically removed from SiftHub results in the next sync cycle.
How is Fireflies.ai different from Gong or Zoom in SiftHub?
All three index call transcripts. Fireflies.ai works across any meeting platform, Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and more, making it a flexible option for teams that aren't standardized on a single tool.
Can I connect both Fireflies.ai and another call recording tool?
Yes. SiftHub supports multiple call-recording connectors simultaneously. Fireflies.ai can run alongside Gong, Zoom, or any other connected call platform.
Can I change the access setting after setup?
Yes. Contact your SiftHub CSM to update the access setting at any time.
Does Fireflies.ai need to be connected to a specific meeting platform?
No. Fireflies.ai works across multiple meeting platforms. As long as the meeting is recorded and transcribed in Fireflies.ai, SiftHub can index it, regardless of where the call took place.
Can SiftHub use Fireflies.ai content alongside other connected tools?
Yes. Fireflies.ai is one source in a broader intelligence layer. SiftHub integrates with your CRM, Slack, Google Drive, and other connectors to provide complete deal context.
