About the integration

Ever been stuck searching for that one answer you know exists somewhere?

You’ve scoured through threads, DMed your colleagues, and still—no luck. Sound familiar?

With SiftHub bot for Slack, those days are over. Simply @SiftHub in any Slack channel (public or private) and ask your question. Instantly, you'll get a response powered by the collective knowledge of all your connected sources on the SiftHub Platform.

No more digging, no more guessing—just answers, right when you need them.

SiftHub connects to Confluence through a lightweight app you install directly in your Atlassian account. Once installed, share the relevant space and page URLs with your SiftHub CSM, and the connection will be activated within 24 hours. You stay in control of exactly what gets indexed, down to the individual page level.

Connection type SiftHub connects to Confluence via a native app installed in your Atlassian account. A Confluence Organization Administrator installs the app and shares the relevant space and page URLs with your SiftHub CSM for activation.

Setup takes approximately 2 minutes, with full activation within 24 hours.
What gets indexed SiftHub indexes Confluence page content, attachments, and metadata, including authors, creation dates, and last modified dates.

You can connect entire spaces, individual pages, or both. All unrestricted child pages of a connected page are automatically included. Restricted pages require one additional step before they can be indexed.
How it works SiftHub scans your indexed Confluence pages such as product docs, solution guides, technical specs, and competitive content, and maps relevant sections to open RFPs, security questionnaires, SOWs, and more.

Responses are injected into Google Docs, Word, or Excel templates while preserving formatting.

The same indexed content powers meeting prep, follow-up collateral, and handover docs, drawing on full deal context from your CRM, Slack, Gong, and other connected tools. Every response links back to the exact Confluence page it came from.
Content updates SiftHub syncs new and modified content every 30 minutes. This includes new pages, edits, permission changes, updates to child pages, and deletions.

Deleted content is automatically removed from SiftHub results.
Access controls SiftHub mirrors Confluence's native permissions. Users only see content they already have access to in Confluence, and access updates automatically when permissions change.

Deleted, archived, or suspended users automatically lose access.

Is SiftHub's Confluence integration secure?

SiftHub only indexes the spaces and pages you explicitly connect. Here's how the rest of the security model works.

  • You stay in control: SiftHub indexes only the spaces and pages whose URLs you share during setup. Everything else stays untouched.
  • Permissions are respected: SiftHub reflects Confluence's existing access controls. If a user can't view a page in Confluence, they won't find it in SiftHub. Changes in Confluence are picked up automatically.
  • Restricted pages stay restricted: Restricted pages are only indexed if the SiftHub app is explicitly added as a user with View access. Nothing restricted is ever indexed without deliberate action on your part.
  • Your data is encrypted: All Confluence data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
  • Enterprise-grade compliance: SiftHub is SOC 2 Type II-certified and meets enterprise security standards for all connector types.

Setup has two parts: you install the SiftHub app in Confluence, then share your space and page URLs with your SiftHub CSM for activation. The whole thing takes about 2 minutes on your end.

Connection requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have the following or contact the relevant administrator:

  • Confluence Organization Administrator access: required to install the SiftHub app
  • SiftHub Admin or Account Owner role: required to activate the connector from SiftHub Web App → Connectors → Apps

Step 1: Install the SiftHub app for Confluence

In your Atlassian account, go to Apps → Manage Apps in Confluence, enable development mode, and upload the SiftHub app using the descriptor URL provided by your CSM. Full instructions are in the SiftHub Help Center.

Step 2: Share your space and page URLs with your SiftHub CSM

Once the app is installed, share the URLs of the spaces and pages you want indexed with your SiftHub CSM. SiftHub will activate the connection within 24 hours.

Note: All unrestricted child pages of a connected page are automatically included; you don't need to share them individually.

Handling restricted pages and spaces

Restricted pages and spaces need one extra step before they can be indexed; the SiftHub app must be added as a user with View access.

For restricted pages: Click the red lock icon on the page, search for SiftHub, select View only, and click Apply. Then share the URL with your CSM.

For restricted spaces: Go to Space Settings, add the SiftHub app as a user with View access, and share the URL with your CSM.

2. Activation and timing

CSM activation Within 24 hours of receiving URLs
Sync frequency after activation Every 30 minutes

Can SiftHub use Confluence content alongside other connected tools?
Yes. Confluence is one source in a broader intelligence layer. SiftHub combines it with your CRM, Slack, Gong, SharePoint, and other connectors so that responses, prep briefs, and handover docs always reflect the full picture, not just what's documented in one place.
